Front Royal Police identify body discovered on South Street Sunday

Front Royal Police are investigating the discovery of a dead body Sunday morning, November 12, in the parking lot of the South Towne Center at 239 South Street. Responding to a 7 a.m. report of an “unconscious subject” police reported that a “deceased male” was found at the scene in the town’s near south-side commercial district.

That person was identified as 50-year-old Thomas Holdup Stevens Hicks of Front Royal. A cause of death has yet to be determined but police say foul play is NOT suspected at this time. No further details were given in a press release issued late Monday morning.
The South Towne Center houses a variety of commercial enterprises, including the China Jade Restaurant, Diva Nails, Two Fat Butchers, Checks into Cash, Fox’s Pizza and Shanghai Spa Therapy, as well as an automated First Bank drive thru.
