Patricia Ann Jenkins

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, with Sammy Campbell officiating. The inurnment will be private.

Trish was born February 29, 1968, in Fairfax, Virginia, the daughter of Kendall Harold Adkins and the late Gaynell Esteppe.

She grew up in Front Royal, Virginia, and graduated from Warren County High School, Class of 1986. She attended Laurel Ridge and the University of Phoenix, where she earned a degree in nursing.

On June 5, 1984, Trish married her best friend, Terry Dwayne Jenkins, Sr. Together, they had three children: Terry Dwayne Jenkins, II (Jessica), Amanda Nichole Jenkins (Colt), and Jennifer Rhoden (Jonathan). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Raya, Avery, Harlynn, Colby, Kira, Elijah, TT, Wyatt, Jovie, Autumné, and Ayla, who all knew her as Nin and loved them dearly. She is also survived by her sister, Brenda Cornwell (Snake); brother, Kendall Adkins; and numerous nieces and nephews, who knew her as a big sissy, and to all, she was a second mom.

Trish and Dwayne were married for 40 years. The two were inseparable, best friends, and the true definition of soul mates. Trish started dating after she spent the night with Dwayne’s sister, and the rest is history. Trish and Dwayne had a marriage many admired and strived to have. They had a perfect marriage simply because of the love they shared and the life they built.

Trish loved to shop, hot potato crafting, crochet, and travel. Every year, Trish looked forward to her annual trip to Key West with her sister and their husbands and the shenanigans that would take place. Most of all, family get-togethers and game nights were her favorite. She loved nothing more than having her kids and grandkids all together.

Trish was a shining light in the lives of all who knew her. To her grandchildren, she was incredible, loving, and the biggest-hearted woman they knew. She missed no sporting event or school function. Trish ran her husband ragged to ensure she showed up for her grandkids. They have so many memories to cherish of all the time spent with Nin. Trish was the epitome of family and what it meant.

She never knew a stranger and never turned away a child in need. Trish was a mother to all who walked into her home. She was kind, loving, motherly, caring, and genuine.

Her passing has left a void in the hearts of many family members and friends. She will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 4, from 6 to 8 p.m.
