Town Council says to non-profits: ‘the well is dry’

At the April 8,2019 Town Council meeting the Humane Society of Warren requested a donation of the use of the Town Trolley for “Waggin’ for Dragons” Event in the amount of $518.50

Council voted to approved, but said no more. Councilman Eugene Tewalt said “This is the last time I’m going to vote for this.” Councilman Bill Sealock said “I’m very concerned about 501C3s coming to the taxpayers to fund their projects. I’ve stated before that seed money is one thing, but year after year after year of funding so their profit margin can go up. That troubles me. I don’t agree with 501C3s coming to ask for tax dollars.
