2017 Warren County Rotary Club Rotarian of the Year
Front Royal, Virginia, July 10, 2017: The Rotary Club of Warren County presented its prestigious Rotarian of the Year Award to Kathy Napier.
“Kathy Napier was selected as our Rotarian of the Year not just for her accomplishments over a single year, but for her principled commitment to apply the “Ideals of Rotary” every day of her life as a Rotarian,” said outgoing Club President Barbara Ecton.
“Kathy clearly demonstrates that “Service Above Self” while practicing “the Four-Way Test” is something she truly practices in her everyday life and in our community.” President Ecton continued. The Four-Way Test ‘of the things we think, say or do’ is a test used by Rotarians worldwide as a moral code for personal and business relationships.
As a Charter Member (2005), and the second President of the Rotary Club of Warren County, Mrs. Napier has held numerous other positions in our Club. In addition to the Club positions, she has also held numerous positions in the 7570 District including: International Youth Exchange Committee, Friendship Exchange Committee, District Conference Planning Advisory Committee; and the Foundation Planned Giving/Significant Gifts Committee.
Ecton presented Napier with her award at the July 5th meeting at the Front Royal Golf Club where the Club meets every Wednesday morning at 7:00 am.
Napier is also a Paul Harris Fellow+ and Paul Harris Society member. A Paul Harris Fellow is an individual who has contributed more than $1,000 to the Annual Program Fund. Multiple-time Paul Harris Fellows are recognized as they continue to contribute. Napier is also a Skelton Fellow; a member of the Bequest Society, Major Donor and Benefactor all while achieving perfect attendance in the Club.
“I helped start the club because Rotary is an organization that works to make our communities, both local and global, a better place for all. I knew there were like-minded people of service in our community that were not able to join an area Rotary Club and we needed to make the Rotary connection available. Rotary offers our members, including me, the chance to serve others and do good in the world,” said Napier.
