Multi-day Trial Dates set in Llewellyn’ Financial Criminal Cases

Published

on

Former Warren County Supervisor and FR-WC EDA Board of Directors member Ron Llewellyn and his wife, Corinne, were in Warren County Circuit Court on the 9 a.m. docket, Monday, March 23, 2026. The Llewellyns have been dealing with multiple criminal financial charges since mid-2024. On Monday, after some discussion between Judge Darryl Funk, Corrine’s attorney Andrew Graves, and Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Robert Burke, potential 4-day trial dates of November 30 through December 3rd were set. Before setting the later dates, Judge Funk told the involved parties that the first multi-day opening trial date he had available was July 6.

Also set was a Discovery Order response date of April 23rd. Judge Funk told Ron Llewellyn that he could file a Discovery Order on a different date, as necessary, that might impact a Discovery response date as well.

Both Ron, who continues to represent himself in these pre-trial motions hearings, and Corrine, who was accompanied by her legal counsel noted above, waived their right to a speedy trial prior to the trial dates being set.

The couple has been required to retain separate legal counsel due to the overlap in some of the charges against them.

Those charges involve the alleged unauthorized expenditure of Corinne’s mother, Jane White’s, financial assets, who lived with the couple on the family’s Rose Hill Estate off Virginia Avenue in Front Royal prior to her move into a Frederick County Assisted Living facility. That move came as Mrs. White’s health, related to aging, deteriorated beyond the couple’s ability to provide the necessary advanced care required.

Charges against the couple, brought by direct indictment out of Warren County, included Larceny Embezzlement (over $200, felony), and Money Laundering – Conduct a Financial Transaction with Proceeds from Felony Activity. Ron is also charged with Forgery in connection with the allegations. If we counted right, the paperwork at Monday’s hearing appeared to indicate a total of 55 counts filed against Ron and 28 against Corinne Llewellyn.

As Royal Examiner has previously reported, the criminal charges here appear related to multiple civil actions brought by Corinne’s siblings in Frederick County following the mother’s move into assisted living there. As we recall, those civil actions were settled by a combination of Judicial rulings, non-suits, and settlements out of court. The Llewellyns told the Examiner that the one civil case ruling that initially went against them was overturned on appeal.

It is also notable that during those sibling civil actions across the county line, Corinne’s sister had her mother sign over the Power of Attorney previously held by Corrine to her. However, as also previously reported, the Llewellyns told Royal Examiner following an earlier hearing on the charges that an assisted living staffer told them Mrs. White had “no idea what she was signing” during that visit. If true, that should lead to some interesting testimony and cross-examination at trial.
