More than 400 people gathered Saturday afternoon, March 28, at Fantasyland Park in Front Royal for a “No Kings Day” rally, joining similar events held across the country and internationally.

The local event was organized by Indivisible Warren County Virginia, in partnership with the Warren County Democratic Committee and the Clarke County Democratic Committee. Organizers said the gathering was part of a nationwide effort to raise awareness of concerns about government leadership and public accountability.

Speakers included political candidates and community voices who addressed the crowd on a range of issues. Attendees also carried signs reflecting a variety of viewpoints and concerns.

Participants cited topics such as immigration policy, the role of federal authority, law enforcement practices, and broader questions about government accountability. Some attendees expressed concern about what they see as a growing divide within the country and between government leadership and citizens.

Others emphasized the importance of civic engagement, saying events like the rally provide an opportunity for people to share their perspectives and participate in the democratic process.

Not everyone shares those concerns. Some local residents say they support current policies and believe the country is on the right track. “There are a lot of people here who feel frustrated, but there are just as many who believe the policies in place are necessary and working,” one local resident shared. “It’s important to remember that this community, and the country, is made up of many different viewpoints.”

The overall tone of the event remained peaceful, with many participants highlighting the importance of free speech and public assembly in expressing concerns and advocating for change.

The Front Royal gathering was part of a nationwide series of demonstrations that reflected a wide range of political views and ongoing public debate over national issues.
