Free Tax Filing Options for the 2024 Tax Season

Published

on

The 2024 tax season is upon us, and the process of filing taxes can seem daunting for many. However, there’s good news for taxpayers looking to navigate this season without the added stress of filing fees. The IRS Free File program offers free tax software to those with an adjusted gross income of $79,000 or less in 2023. This initiative is designed to make the tax filing process easier and more accessible for eligible taxpayers, including active-duty military personnel.

The program boasts a partnership with eight Free File partners, ensuring a wide range of options for users. These partners are:

  • 1040Now
  • Drake (1040.com)
  • ezTaxReturn.com
  • FileYourTaxes.com
  • On-Line Taxes
  • TaxAct
  • TaxHawk (FreeTaxUSA)
  • TaxSlayer

These platforms are accessible via smartphone, tablet, or computer, offering convenience and flexibility for filers. Each partner provides guided tax work, simplifying the process and helping taxpayers ensure accuracy in their filings. Additionally, some partners may offer assistance with state tax returns, further easing the annual tax filing burden.

It’s important to note that returns are due by April 15, giving taxpayers ample time to take advantage of these free resources. To learn more about the IRS Free File program and find the right free filing option, visit the official IRS website at https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free.

This initiative provides financial relief and empowers taxpayers to file their taxes confidently, ensuring they meet their obligations without unnecessary expense.
