Celebrate 15 Years of Choral Harmony with the Blue Ridge Singers!

Published

on

The Shenandoah Valley is about to resonate with the vibrant sounds of the Blue Ridge Singers as they commemorate their fifteenth anniversary with an extraordinary spring concert series. Under the skilled baton of Dr. Jeffrey M. Alban, the choir is set to dazzle audiences with a unique program titled “Let’s Dance!” This series promises an eclectic mix of tango, swing, African dance, Austrian polka, and an innovative take on “choral” dance. Attendees can expect an immersive experience that will have them tapping their feet to the rhythm of the choir’s harmonious adventures.

Highlighting the season’s finale, the Blue Ridge Singers will collaborate with Dr. Jessica Long and the Blue Ridge Chamber Orchestra. This year, the ensemble introduces the bandoneon, a distinctive Argentine accordion, adding a new layer of authenticity to Martín Palmeri’s Misatango. The addition of bandoneonist Emmanuel Trifilio ensures an experience that is as genuine as it is captivating, alongside further instrumental enrichments to the performance.

Since its inception in 2009, the Blue Ridge Singers have dedicated themselves to musical excellence, educational outreach, and community enrichment. Alongside offering a student scholarship, the choir continues its mission of bringing joy to senior living communities. This season’s performances are supported by the Marion Park Lewis Foundation, the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Town of Front Royal, making them accessible to all with free admission. However, a $15 donation is appreciated.
