Dorothy Mae Smoot (1945 – 2025)

Dorothy Mae Smoot, 79, of Strasburg, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, at 2:00 p.m. in Prospect Hill Cemetery, with Sammy Campbell officiating.

Mrs. Smoot was born November 17, 1945, in Front Royal, Virginia, the daughter of the late Clifford Burell and Esta Jenkins Woodard.

Surviving are two sons, Teddy Smoot and wife Margie of Middletown and Jason “Mimi” Smoot and wife Sharon of Front Royal; one sister, Anna Dodson of Luray; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Davis Smoot, her son, Terry Smoot, and her daughter, Karen Alvoid.

The family will receive friends at Maddox Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 27, from 1-2 p.m.
