Warren County Board of Supervisors Elects 2026 Leadership at Annual Meeting

The Warren County Board of Supervisors held its annual organizational meeting on January 8, 2026, officially kicking off the 2026 calendar year by selecting its new leadership team.

Warren County Administrator Bradley N. Gotshall calls for the nominations.

Warren County Administrator Bradley N. Gotshall opened the meeting in accordance with Section 2-1 of the Board’s Meeting Policy and Procedures, serving as acting chair for the evening until elections were completed. “This evening marks a special occasion,” Gotshall said, noting the Board’s annual responsibility to elect a new chair and vice chair. He began the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by an opening prayer led by Randy DeSantis from Skyline Baptist Church.

The election for Board Chair began with Supervisor Hugh Henry nominating Cheryl Cullers for the position. Supervisor John W. Stanmeyer then nominated Tony Carter, bringing two names to the ballot.

In a lighthearted moment that drew laughter from the room, Tony Carter playfully nominated Royal Examiner reporter Roger Bianchini for chair. The unexpected nomination briefly confused Administrator Gotshall, who paused before recognizing the jest. “Okay, a bit before my time, I believe,” Gotshall said, smiling as he brought the room back to order.

With no additional serious nominations, the roll was called, and votes were cast. Supervisor Cheryl Cullers was elected as Chair of the Board of Supervisors for 2026.

Following the chair election, the Board moved swiftly into the nomination process for Vice Chair. Supervisor Henry nominated Tony Carter for the role. After three calls and no further nominations, the nominations were closed. A roll call vote confirmed Tony Carter’s election as Vice Chair.

At the conclusion of the elections, Administrator Gottschall congratulated the newly elected officers and formally handed over the gavel. The new leadership is now set to guide the Board through another year of governance and decision-making in Warren County.

The annual organizational meeting sets the tone for the months ahead as the Board prepares to address key issues, including county budgeting and development, community services, and infrastructure projects. The newly appointed chair and vice chair are expected to play central roles in shaping those discussions.
