Snip, Style, Celebrate: Jennerations Hair Studio & Spa Marks 20 Years in Front Royal

Jennerations Hair Studio & Spa celebrated a major milestone on February 12, 2026, by welcoming community members, clients, and local leaders to a 20th-anniversary ribbon-cutting ceremony at its Warren Avenue location.

Hosted by the Front Royal-Warren County Chamber of Commerce, the event drew a crowd eager to recognize the salon’s two decades of service and transformation. Executive Director Nikki Foster opened the celebration, followed by remarks from Town Councilman Josh Ingram, who praised Jennerations’ deep community roots.

“It’s always great to see small businesses like this not only establish themselves, but continue to grow and be involved,” said Ingram. “Congratulations to the entire team for the lasting impact you’ve made.”

Brett Bement of Play Favorites, speaking on behalf of the Chamber, applauded owner Jennifer Nicholson for her leadership, community involvement, and generosity. “Thank you for all you do, from supporting newcomers to organizing events like your breast cancer awareness fundraisers. You’re a staple in this community.”

Then came the emotional moment when Jennifer Nicholson took center stage.

“Twenty years—wow,” Nicholson said, standing beside her staff. “This salon is a dream that started with my father, Russell Payne, who opened it in 2006 under the name A Cut Above. A couple of years later, he handed me the reins, and we rebranded as Jennerations when we expanded briefly to a second location.”

Nicholson reflected on their move from Royal Plaza to their current home at 502 Warren Avenue, a space she described as “ours” in every sense.

“We love it here,” she said. “It’s cozy, welcoming, and away from the hustle of the shopping center. Our clients appreciate the peace and the personalized service.”

Nicholson credits her success to a team that feels like family: stylists Valerie, Billie, and Laura; esthetician Sommer; nail technician Amanda; and receptionist Charlie. “Without them—and without our customers, past, present, and future—none of this would be possible.”

After cutting the ribbon (with enthusiastic cheers and a community countdown), the celebration continued with an open house, spa service demos, and a “passport-style” giveaway where visitors could meet team members and enter to win a spa day.

Jennerations offers a full range of hair, nail, and spa services, including cuts, colors, highlights, facials, full-body waxing, permanent makeup, lash and brow artistry, spray tans, manicures, and pedicures. The spa uses professional products such as KENRA, CIRCADIA, HEMPZ, OPI, and MORGAN TAYLOR, as well as eco-conscious options like Eco-fin for skin treatments.

Despite its upscale offerings, the atmosphere remains down-to-earth and deeply personal.

“We serve women, men, kids, grandparents—you name it,” Nicholson explained. “About 45% of our visits are actually from male clients, and everyone receives individualized attention.”

The name Jennerations itself reflects a blend of Jennifer’s own name and the multigenerational clientele they proudly serve.

“We welcome everyone here. We’re not just a salon, we’re part of the lives and milestones of so many in this town. That’s what makes it special.”
