James Edward “Jimmy” Mahoney (1953 – 2026)

James Edward “Jimmy” Mahoney, 72, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at his home in Front Royal.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 22, at 4:00 p.m. at the Front Royal Elks Lodge with Sammy Campbell officiating. Inurnment will be private.

Jimmy was born December 2, 1953, in Chester Gap, Virginia, son of the late Noah Smith Mahoney Sr. and Julia Belle “Judy Belle” Woodward Mahoney.

He retired as a carpenter.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Cornelia Dodson Mahoney; one brother, Noah S. Mahoney Jr. of Front Royal; two grandchildren, Ashley Mahoney and Megan Mahoney; five great-grandchildren, Rosalee, Shanelle, Kenslee, Onyx and Kyren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jimmy was a member of the Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion S.O.L. and B.P.O.E. #2382 in Front Royal.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jamie Mahoney; and a sister, Lorraine Pearson.
