MORE ABOUT SPECIAL OLYMPICS:

Per Joanne Richmond, Coordinator:

We have between 45-50 athletes varying in ages from 8-48 and with varying disabilities and abilities.  Bowling is the most popular sport. I started kickball several years ago so the athletes would have a sport after Bowling.  We normally have 16-18 partake but some can’t handle the hotter weather. We also have volunteers and can always use more!

We do our own fund raising and all monies stay right here.  Bowling costs the most and also has the most participants. We really don’t spend money on kickball. Fresh air is still free!  Basketball and bingo are also low budget. We try to get donations for bingo prizes. The summer movie socials will be our next highest expenditure.

For more information please contact Carol Olson, Assistant Coordinator Warren County Special Olympics @ 540 622-4443
