RSW Jail mug shot of Dorian Eugene Pitts, currently being held without bond.

It seems the online “web” wasn’t dark enough for a Bentonville man accused of five counts of child pornography, including one count of creating a video image of a young teenage girl using the bathroom that was circulated online.

According to Warren County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Phillip Henry, authorities were led to a June 21 search of 91 Indian Hollow Road by Internet Protocol (IP) information connecting a resident of that address, 36-year-old Dorian Eugene Pitts, to the online circulated video image described in one of the arrest warrants issued against Pitts in the early-morning hours of Thursday, June 21.

That Class 6 Felony manufacture of child pornography warrant states that Pitts did “knowingly and intentionally create a videographic or still image of a non-consenting person under the age of 18 years when such a person was totally nude, clad in undergarments, or in a state of undress … in a restroom … or other location under circumstances where such person had a reasonable expectation of privacy.”  Lt. Henry specified the involved minor as a 13-year-old female using the bathroom.

Pitts is also charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, three of those listed as Class 5 felonies, one as a Class 6 felony.

In addition to the Indian Hollow Road residence, outbuildings and any vehicles registered to Pitts, the search warrant executed at 5:53 a.m. Thursday morning, June 21, targets “any and all electronic communications devices such as, but not limited to, cell phones, laptops or tablet computers”, as well as GPS systems or “any digital media storage devices” including but not limited to cameras, DVR’s, hard drives, external storage or memory devices, among others.

Pitts had an initial court appearance on Monday, June 25, after which he continued to be held at Rappahannock-Shenandoah-Warren County (RSW) Regional Jail without bond.  A subsequent bond hearing is scheduled for the 9 a.m. docket in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Friday, June 29.

Authorities would not elaborate on Pitts’ relationship to the other occupants of the Bentonville address in the far southern end of Warren County.  However, Lt. Henry said chief investigator Mackenzie Knowles was seeking a protective order against Pitts being allowed to return to the Indian Hollow Road residence were he to be freed on bond.

Lt. Henry confirmed that the WCSO blocked off Indian Hollow Road during the search of the residence for safety reasons.  A source in the vicinity at the time the search was executed told Royal Examiner that after hearing a loud noise around 5:30 a.m. someone was heard yelling, “At least let the children come out.”

Anyone with any information relating to this case is asked to contact Investigator Knowles at the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 635-7100.
