Greg Drescher, Superintendent of Warren County Public Schools presented his report to the School Board at their February 6th meeting. He announced that the month of February marks the annual observance of School Board Appreciation Month—a time to salute the work of school board members and celebrate public education.

The theme — Leading for Success — reflects the top priority of local school board members as they advocate for public education with local, state, and federal leaders on behalf of all students. Local school boards keep the public in charge of public schools, since they represent their community’s beliefs and values.

In Warren County, school board members must develop policies and make tough decisions on complex educational and social issues impacting the entire community. They bear responsibility for an annual budget of over $57 million, 5,200 students, over 800 employees, and twelve school sites. They preserve the core of our democracy—public education. Too often we neglect to recognize the dedication and hard work of these men and women who represent us.

Greg Drescher also highlighted several events happening in the Warren County Schools this month and introduced Amy Gubler, Principal of the Warren County Middle School and her guests and what the did this month.
