Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Published

Rich Jamieson’s words on economic development sound reasonable and hopeful, but his actions regarding Samuels Library tell a different story. His priority has not been economic development but the destruction of the Samuels Library public/private partnership.

The basic facts: Rich’s library “study” was conducted internally, with no input from the library and no chance for the library to provide a direct response.  His study said there was financial mismanagement but offered no specifics for savings.   Now, Rich is planning to contract with a for-profit library services company.  That company will provide for-profit (reduced) services for the same price that Samuels non-profit has said they will agree to.

That’s right—all this time and money spent to destroy a 50-year partnership will not benefit or save Warren County. Come to the library open house this Wednesday, look at the numbers for yourself, and ask questions.
