Announcing the retirement of beloved “Siggi” from the House of Hope

The Board of Directors of the House of Hope, a sixteen-bed residential program for homeless men, announces the retirement of Sigrid Hepp-Dax from the Board. Siggi, as she is effectively known throughout Front Royal and Warren County, has been the face of the House of Hope for many years. She has been tireless in her efforts to improve the lives of men who suffer from poverty, addiction and poor physical and mental health.

“Without Siggi, there would be no House of Hope” said Mark Jordan who co-chairs the Board of Directors. “If you are trying to explain to a businessman in Front Royal what the House of Hope is and what it does, you just have to mention the name Siggi and you need say no more” said Jordan.

“We are going to miss our beloved Siggi” said Mary Ann Biggs, co-chair of the Board. “Siggi put together a strong Board of Directors and we now have an executive director” noted Biggs. “We have all been blessed by Siggi’s example and inspiration. She might retire but her spirit continues to be part of all we do.”

The House of Hope was founded in 2007 as an all-volunteer effort to help homeless men. Siggi, a psychologist, served as a case manager and nurtured the program over the years. The House of Hope, located at 724 Warren Avenue in Front Royal, is the only residential program for homeless men in Warren County.
