Betty J. West (1953 – 2024)

Betty J. West, 70, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, with Sammy Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Panorama Memorials Gardens in Waterlick.

Betty was born December 23, 1953, in Rappahannock County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy Rutherford.

She worked many years as a realtor and, in her later years, as a caregiver for Home Instead.

Surviving are two sons, Brian West and wife Brandy of Front Royal and Aaron West and wife Amy of Front Royal; six grandchildren, Cody Cross, who was like her son; Melissa West, Wyatt West, Kayla Bane, Taylor Corathers, and Chance Corathers; and three great-grandchildren, Laken, Baylor, and Laynie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Loretta Mason.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 9, from 10-11 a.m..
