Betty Lou “Granny” Settle (1934 – 2024)

Betty Lou “Granny” Settle, 90, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Warren Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main St. Front Royal, Virginia 22630, with pastor Jim Bunce officiating. The family invites guests to visit with them one hour before the Maddox service. The burial will take place at a later date.

Betty was born in West Virginia on January 6, 1934, to the late Clarence and Isadora Rudy Lupton. She was also preceded in death by her husband Arthur Settle; and she was the last living child of her parent’s nine children.

Surviving Betty are her loving daughters, Malissa Horton (Jason), Tina Presley (Phil), Kelly Atkins, and Jewel Dias (Kevin); her grandchildren, Matthew Atkins (Jessica), William Atkins (Lindsey), Justin Atkins (Kirsten), Heather Presley Sandhu (Bobby), Michael Presley (Kimm), Celeste Horton, and Gabriel Horton; her six great-grandchildren plus one more on the way; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was a member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing in her spare time but loved eating with friends, socializing, and riding out to see the countryside.

Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Atkins, William Atkins, Justin Atkins, Michael Presley, Bobby Sandhu, and Brian Accettullo.
