Diane Frances Siek (1934 – 2024)
Diane Frances Siek (nee Plant), age 89, died on February 26, 2024, at her home in Daytona Beach, Florida. Diane was born on July 24, 1934, the daughter of the late George and Frances Plant of Troy, New York, and the beloved wife of the late Raymond Richard Siek.

Diane Frances Siek
Diane graduated from Averill Park High School and attended the Oneonta State Teachers’ College, where she studied to become an elementary school teacher. Although she worked many years in the banking industry, her life’s ambition was to be a wife and a mother, and she will always be remembered for her generosity and devotion to her three sons.
Diane was a voracious reader with a particular fondness for books by James Patterson and Patricia Cornwell. Her favorite book was “Gone With the Wind” by Margaret Mitchell, her favorite color was “Red,” her favorite TV shows were “The Tonight Show With Johnny Carson” and “The Lawrence Welk Show”, and her favorite song was “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You” by Elvis Presley, her favorite singer was Frank Sinatra and her favorite actor was Clark Gable. She was a supporter of the Boys Scouts of America (BSA) and served as a Den Mother for many years. As the wife of a career USAF NCO, she traveled extensively throughout Europe and lived in England and Germany for many years. She said that the best moment of her life was giving birth to her first child and that she was proudest of her family.
After the death of her husband Raymond, Diane moved from Virginia to Daytona Beach, Florida, where she connected with Bill Warrington, an old friend from Averill Park. Together, they embarked on many adventures, including cruises in the Caribbean, seeing movies at the local cinema, and road trips to visit friends and family.
Diane was predeceased by her sister, Susan Spateholts (nee Plant). Her children survive her: Corey F. Siek of Daytona Beach, Florida; Alan R. Siek (Pamela) of Paeonian Springs, Virginia, and Mark A. Siek (Dana) of Omaha, Nebraska; and her sister Sandra Carson (nee Plant) of New York, New York. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Roger Spateholts (the late Susan) of Charleston, South Carolina, and fourteen special nieces and nephews.
With eternal love and devotion, she leaves behind her grandchildren: Christina, Chandler, Chad, and Chase.
Family and friends may gather from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 W. Main Street, Front Royal, Virginia. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at Shenandoah Memorial Park, 1270 Front Royal Pike, Winchester, VA 22602.
