Published
2 years agoon
The Warren County Board of Supervisors is optimistic about the future as the community moves forward following the sentencing of Jennifer McDonald. McDonald received a 14-year prison sentence and was ordered to pay $2.7 million in restitution to the Front Royal Warren County Economic Development Authority.
“We are glad this chapter of a very sad and deceitful book is ending with justice served. We look forward to putting this behind us and moving Warren County forward in a positive direction,” said Cheryl Cullers, Chair, of the South River District.
Jay Butler, Vice Chair, of the Happy Creek District, echoed these sentiments, stating, “This is a tragedy we need to put behind us and come together as a community to overcome the financial challenges from the mess convicted felon Jennifer McDonald has placed upon us.”
On November 1, 2023, Jennifer McDonald was found guilty of 29 counts, including wire fraud, bank fraud, money laundering, and one count of aggravated identity theft. She must self-report to the Bureau of Prisons no earlier than June 24.
The Board of Supervisors is focused on addressing the financial repercussions of McDonald’s crimes and working towards a brighter future for Warren County.
