Missouri Man Arrested in Undercover Operation Targeting Online Crimes Against Children

A Missouri man has been arrested and is facing multiple charges after an undercover operation in Virginia aimed at stopping the online exploitation of minors.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office said its investigative team launched the operation on Feb. 6, 2026, to identify people using the internet to contact and solicit minors. During the operation, an investigator posed as a girl under 15.

Name: Jeffrey Kimmons – Taneyville, MO. Offenses: · §18.2-374.3. Use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children. (6 counts)

Authorities say an adult man, later identified as 62-year-old Jeffrey Kimmons of Taneyville, Missouri, initiated contact with the undercover investigator. According to officials, Kimmons allegedly requested inappropriate photos and sent obscene images, believing he was communicating with a juvenile.

Investigators said the interaction was not prompted by law enforcement and was started by the suspect.

As the case developed, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office obtained six warrants for Kimmons. On April 8, deputies in Taney County, Missouri, carried out a search warrant at his home and took him into custody without incident.

Kimmons was booked into the Taney County Jail, where a judge ordered him held without bond. He is now awaiting an extradition hearing and is expected to be transferred to Virginia to face charges.

A preliminary court hearing has been scheduled for June 4, 2026, at 10 a.m. in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Taney County Sheriff’s Office for its help in the arrest, noting that such cases often rely on cooperation between agencies across state lines.

Officials also emphasized the importance of ongoing efforts to combat internet crimes against children. The sheriff’s office is part of the Northern Virginia/DC Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which is coordinated by the Virginia State Police.

Anyone with information about possible exploitation or solicitation of a minor is urged to contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
