Brian Anthony Lamb, 46, of Middletown, Virginia, passed away on October 5, 2026.

Brian Lamb was born to Debbie Lamb on Abraham Lincoln’s birthday in 1980.

Brian Anthony Lamb was an unforgettable spirit for those of us lucky enough to know him. We will always remember how his blue eyes sparkled with mischief and laughter, and how he was always ready to coach or lend a helping hand. Brian was passionate about social justice and equality, often saying he wished the world were a kinder place for everyone.

Brian loved music—all kinds of music, played loudly in the car, in his AirPods, and always in the morning on his giant speaker when he first woke up. Brian wanted to go to all kinds of concerts and parties; if there was a good time to be had, he looked forward to it for weeks and talked vividly about his experiences afterward in true Aquarian fashion.

Brian could make friends with perfect strangers because he welcomed everyone to his table. Brian loved terrible jokes and silly stories; he was a jokester and a born storyteller, and his charisma and charm were hard to resist.

Brian played college football for Liberty University and Shenandoah University. He loved playing football and enjoyed coaching football even more; in a way, football was likely his favorite spiritual practice.  In 1999, he walked the streets that Jesus walked with Jerry Falwell. Brian was selected for a special mission trip to Israel for Liberty University students. Brian said that the trip forever changed him and his perspective on faith.

Brian believed that Jesus loved everyone, not just a select few. Brian’s heart and mind were always open, and he was very outspoken about bigotry, racism, and corruption in organized religion. Brian had a huge worldview and was open to culture and change, but most of all he loved people, even when he had a hard time loving himself.

Brian was a jack of all trades; he had careers in security, logistics, as an NRA firearms instructor, in first aid, counseling, teaching, coaching. He was also a lifelong Chicago Bears fan.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carroll “Bubby” Lamb and Betty Lamb. Brian is most definitely sitting with Bubby right now, talking his ear off, telling him silly stories and saying that he is very glad he does not have to stack wood (the wrong way, according to Bubby) this year. Brian loved his granddaddy Bubby like no other.

Brian is survived by his mother, Debbie Lamb; he was her heart and soul, and their bond will never be broken. Brian always had a hug for his mama and loved her dearly.

Brian is survived by his eldest son, Landyn Lamb and his girlfriend Clara Williams. Brian was so incredibly proud of Landyn, often saying Landyn was a sweet, wise soul, and he felt humbled to be his father.  Brian was so glad that Landyn found the love of his life so young in Clara, and considered her a blessing for our entire family.

Brian is survived by his baby girl, Khloe Lamb, whom he always said was so smart, beautiful, and fearless that he didn’t have to worry about her; she would make her own way—on her own terms — and be just fine.

Brian is survived by the mother of his children, Kristy Atkins, to whom he was forever grateful for her fire and passion in raising their children into the strong individuals they are today. Brian always considered Kristy a lifelong friend and had many fond memories of fantastic family vacations and many crazy adventures from the late 1900s with the original WCHS crew. He loved being a dad and was exceptional at cooking quesadillas and planning the ultimate concert night out for the kiddos.

Brian is survived by his wife, Rachael Hite-Lamb. Brian is her best friend, her forever favorite person. There are very rare moments in life when the universe says, “Here, take this person and love them for all that they are—not what you want them to be, or how you wish they would be—but just as they are, and they will love you back the same.” For this, Rachael will forever be grateful to have been loved by someone like Brian.

Brian is survived by many other family members, including his uncles, Dennis Lamb Sr. and Tony Lamb, both of Front Royal; his aunt, Dianna Chandler; his cousins, Dennis Lamb Jr. and Jamie Chandler; Rachael’s son, George Twigg II; plus many, many more. Brian is survived by his friends, co-coaches, former teammates, and the students he coached, and two little bunny rabbits still waiting for him to come home. He will never be forgotten.

Brian lived his life loud, beautiful, and messy, but lately his favorite Chicago Bears rally cry, “Good, better, best, never let it rest,” was the words he wanted us to live by and remember him through.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, with Sammy Campbell officiating.

We are asking attendees to wear Chicago Bears attire, WCHS attire, or their favorite jersey to the service; Brian would want it no other way.

In place of flowers, the family requests a donation to Front Royal/Warren County C-Cap.
