Celena H. Fletcher-Beatty
Celena was a beautiful woman on all accounts. Known for having the most beautiful smile with a distinct sparkle in her eyes, it could be said the Lord’s light showed so brightly from within her. She loved Him dearly and faithfully attended First Baptist in Daytona Beach since moving to the area in the early 2000s. As a true follower of Jesus Christ, she loved her neighbors, who became close, loving, and caring members of her family. Celena also volunteered at the Church’s thrift shop and helped coordinate social events for her life group.
Celena had many wonderful talents. She was incredibly friendly and could make anyone feel welcome. She was a fabulous cook. Most memorable was her endless sense of humor—she always had a witty comeback, a charming smile, and a hearty laugh. Her positivity spread warmth and joy to those near her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Fletcher and Kate Elizabeth Smith Fletcher, siblings William Dwayne Fletcher and Alicia Fletcher Grey, and her loving husband of over 35 years, Gordon L. Beatty. Celena is survived by her family, including great-grandchildren Caleb and Cailynn Hays, her church life group, and her loving neighbors.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 10th, 2024, at First Baptist Daytona Beach. May she forever rest in peace!
