County man arrested on felony count of aggravated sexual battery charges

Basil John Chuppa

Warren County, VA- On September 5, 2018 the Warren County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault that occurred on September 2, 2018.  The reported incident took place on Catlett Mountain Rd. in Warren County, involving Basil John Chuppa a 40 year old male resident of Warren County and a female victim.

The investigation led to the arrest of Basil John Chuppa for the following charges:

  • 18.2-51.6. Strangulation of another.
  • 18.2-67.3. Aggravated sexual battery.

Chuppa is currently being held without bond at RSW Regional Jail. Anyone with information about this or similar incidents are asked to contact Investigator Knowles at 540-635-7100 or invknowles@warrencountysheriff.org.
