A Front Royal man remains hospitalized in Richmond with critical injuries after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night, June 9, according to Front Royal Police.

Trevail Deshaun Holloman, 21, was struck just before midnight by a car traveling north on Royal Avenue near the intersection of West Prospect Street, according to a media release by the Front Royal Police Department. The driver was Nathan Helsey, 21, of Front Royal.

According to the release, officers arrived to find “a male trapped under a small silver Chevy Malibu. Officers, deputies, and civilians were able to extricate the victim from beneath the vehicle by using a tire jack to lift the vehicle.”

Holloman was transported to Warren Memorial Hospital, then airlifted to Virginia Commonwealth Medical Center.

Police say that witnesses at the scene indicated that Holloman was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk before riding off the curb and into the travel lane of the oncoming vehicle. Neither alcohol nor speed appears to be a factor in the accident.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Olivia Meadows at 540-635-2111 or omeadows@frontroyalva.com.
