Emma Jean Fletcher-Scott (1952 – 2025)
Emma Jean Fletcher-Scott, affectionately known as E.J., 72, of Hyattsville, Maryland, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, after a long illness at Adventist Health Care Medical Center.

She was born on May 9, 1952, to the late Estelle and Samuel Fletcher of Front Royal, Virginia. She is survived by her son Junis (JT) Fletcher and two grandsons Junis (JJ) Fletcher, Jr. and Jayden (Shorty) Fletcher. She is also survived by her four siblings, Doris Johnson Pailen, Susie Fletcher, Geneva Fletcher, Samuel Fletcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
EJ attended Warren County High School in Front Royal, Virginia. After graduating from high school, she followed her siblings and moved to Washington, DC. While in Washington, she joined the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (METRO) as a bus operator, then became Supervisor and Deck Clerk before retiring after more than 30 years of service.
She enjoyed music, dancing, and talking with friends. She also was a spiritual and praying woman and avid Washington Redskins/Commanders fan. She was so excited they made the playoffs this past season.
A Homegoing Service will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Crossover Church(South) located at 5340 Baltimore Ave, Hyattsville, MD 20781. Family hour will be from 10 am-11 am and Funeral at 11 am. Interment will be Thursday, March 6th at 12:30 pm at Good Hope Cemetery, 831 Happy Creek Road, Front Royal, Virginia.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society at Cancer.org in memory of Emma Jean-Fletcher Scott.
