Enough Is Enough: Stopping the Extremist Agenda in Warren County
What’s happening with Samuels Library isn’t just about a so-called “secret meeting.” It’s part of a much larger, blatantly dangerous pattern: Religious extremists are taking over our local government, and our library is just the first target.
Let’s cut through the crap—the recent article by Mr. Belk, a known book banner and the appointed chair of the bogus Warren County Library Board (WCLB), is nothing more than a desperate, dishonest attempt to stir up outrage where there is none. The Samuels Library Board of Trustees didn’t hold a “secret meeting.” They held a legally conducted session that followed every requirement—just like every other responsible board does. This “secret meeting” nonsense is nothing but a smokescreen, a manufactured crisis to distract from what’s really going on: a small, radical group trying to seize control of our community by any means necessary.
These extremists aren’t interested in transparency or protecting our kids. They want control, plain and simple. They’re bullies—hellbent on forcing their narrow, hateful agenda on all of us. They’re the same people who tried to ban books last summer, who show up at our schools foaming at the mouth over civic lessons, who want to tell you what you can read, think, and believe.
The amendment to the Articles of Incorporation was a necessary move to protect the library’s assets—assets that belong solely to Samuels Library, Inc., not to Warren County, and certainly not to a bunch of power-hungry zealots who’d rather torch the whole place than let a kid check out a book they don’t approve of. The Board did its job: they protected our library from the extremists banging on the door.
But don’t think for a second they’ll stop here. These people are already on our boards and committees, using every seat they hold to push their radical agenda. Today, it’s the library. Tomorrow, it’s our schools. Our local government. Our freedom. They want to turn Warren County into their own personal echo chamber—a place where only their twisted worldview is allowed to exist.
This isn’t just political theater. It’s a damn takeover. And we see right through it. Our community deserves better than lies, fear, and propaganda. We deserve leaders who actually give a damn about keeping our community strong, safe, and welcoming—not wannabe tyrants who think they have the right to dictate our thoughts and our lives.
It’s time for all of us—Republicans, Democrats, Independents—to say, “Enough is enough.”
