Fauquier Health to Join Bon Secours Mercy Health Network
Fauquier Health is expected to join the Bon Secours Mercy Health network this fall, under an agreement announced by Lifepoint Health.
Lifepoint has signed an agreement to transition ownership of Fauquier Health to HealthSpan Partners, thereby making the hospital a network partner of Bon Secours Mercy Health.
The organizations say patients should not expect immediate changes to the care they receive.
Fauquier Health will continue operating with the same providers and services already in place, and there are no anticipated changes to scheduled appointments, procedures, or accepted insurance plans.
Bon Secours said it plans to invest in Fauquier Health while building on the hospital’s existing services.
The health system said its goals include expanding care where there is community need and positioning Fauquier Health to meet changing healthcare demands in the years ahead.
The transition is also expected to have minimal impact on current employees. Staff members in good standing are expected to remain in their current roles, while the partnership could create new opportunities for employees and physicians.
Bon Secours Mercy Health is a Catholic health ministry operating in the United States, Ireland, and the Philippines. The organization includes 47 hospitals and more than 1,200 healthcare sites.
According to the health system, about 60,000 employees and 3,000 providers serve more than 14 million patient encounters each year.
Bon Secours Mercy Health also says it invests more than $415 million annually in community benefit programs designed to improve access to care and address broader health needs.
The ownership transition is expected to be finalized this fall.
Additional updates are expected over the coming weeks and months as the process moves forward.
