FCPS Employee Arrested for Sending Nude Photos to Student
A Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) employee has been arrested on felony charges after allegedly sending nude photographs to a 17-year-old student. Brian Patrick Sullivan, the athletic director at James Wood High School, was taken into custody in Pennsylvania following a criminal investigation in Virginia.
Authorities say FCPS officials were first alerted to the allegations on February 13, 2025. Sullivan is accused of sending at least two explicit photos of himself to the student between November 2024 and January 2025 using a social media app. Investigators confirmed the images appeared to have been taken off school grounds and sent outside of school hours. FCPS immediately contacted the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) School Safety Division, which launched an investigation.
A felony warrant was issued for Sullivan on charges of using a communications device to transmit sexually explicit photos to a minor, a violation of Virginia Code 18.2-374.3(D). At the time of his arrest, Sullivan was visiting family in Ross Township, Pennsylvania. Local police assisted in taking him into custody, where he remains as authorities arrange his return to Virginia.
