Fire on 600 block of Midland Avenue in Front Royal

Just before noon on Thursday, June 13th, the WCFR was dispatched to the 600 block of Midland Avenue in Front Royal for a reported house fire.

Fire crews quickly arrived to find a two story single family home where a flue pipe of a burning wood-stove disconnected and caused fire to burn the interior wall and filled the house with smoke.

The fire was contained and caused minor damages. Crews operated on the scene for approximately 1 hour where they checked for fire extension and removed smoke from the residence.
