FAIRFAX – Drivers on I-66 between Route 7 (Leesburg Pike) and Route 243 (Nutley Street) should expect delays and plan to use alternate routes during overnight hours tonight, Tuesday, Nov. 6, and tomorrow night, Wednesday, Nov. 7. Dominion Energy will be relocating overhead power lines near Gallows Road to accommodate the I-66 Outside the Beltway Express Lanes Project.

Work will take place in the eastbound and westbound directions on I-66 between Route 7 and Nutley Street. Virginia State Police troopers will pace all traffic in this area to a slow roll with several temporary stoppages possible. Additionally, the Express Lanes and general use ramps from I-495 South to I-66 West will be narrowed to one lane, with intermittent traffic stoppages.

Ramp closures will begin at 10 p.m. each night, with I-66 traffic stoppages and slowdowns occurring between Midnight and 4 a.m.
