A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal, with the Rev. Raymond Morton officiating. Burial will follow in the Third Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Success, Virginia.
Mr. Ford was born on July 7, 1945, in Front Royal to the late Benjamin and Isabelle Sloan Ford. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. He coached community basketball games in the local gym for over 30 years. He was a community-oriented person who greatly enjoyed helping others. Above all, he loved his family and truly enjoyed hearing them sing together.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ethel Ford; seven sons, Troy Ford, Jason Wooddell, Gi Fitzhugh, Benjamin Wooddell, Martin Anthony, Darrell DeNeal, and Andre DeNeal; three daughters, Tina Asamoah, Olympia Veney, and Natasha Fitzhugh; brother Edward Ford; sister Hattie Gadegbeku; numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Harry Veney, Marcus Ford, Jason Wooddell, Benjamin Wooddell, Benjamin Ford, and Michael Romero will be pallbearers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
