The “M” Word and Workforce Housing Project

Published

on

I have never enjoyed political participation on any level. Every time it has been my conviction to join the fray on any political subject It has made me feel like a “country boy returning to the ship after liberty in Singapore”. Yet from time to time I am compelled to inject a thought or two telling myself this is what a good citizen should do. Certainly, if we do not voice our thoughts the political forces will turn our county/city into a facsimile of the above-mentioned town.

After following the diligent reporting of the Royal Examiner and the occasional article of other local news outlets I was surprised to hear the “M” word being used at Warren County Board of Supervisors meeting with relationship to the Economic Development Authority’s workforce housing project. Certainly, to suddenly use the term “Morally Obligated” to spend almost half a million dollars on what was touted to be free over a year ago is the height of fantasy.

Indeed, anyone who has followed the “shenanigans” on the part of the EDA and Board of Supervisors in this matter can only say it has been a deplorable experience. Shady deals, Secret Agreements, possible nepotism, and claims supervisors were unaware of various sheltered aspects, have tainted this deal and the whole process of county government to the cesspool level. To now decide to claim the “High Road” is not only despicable but down right laughable.

Excuse me now, while I deal with the return of that old feeling mentioned above with regard to the political fray once again experienced.
