Man arrested in FL allegedly tied to Winchester shooting
Efrain Rios-Torres was arrested in Clearwater, FL Thursday; he is wanted for charges in Winchester, VA.
WINCHESTER – A man has been arrested in Florida wanted in connection with a shooting in Winchester. Efrain Rios-Torres, 33, of Winchester, was taken into custody Thursday morning in Clearwater, FL.
Rios-Torres is charged with malicious wounding and possession of a weapon by a felon. The charges stem from a shooting last Friday evening, at a home on the 900 block of N. Braddock St. The female victim suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and was released from the hospital. Further details in the case are still under investigation.
Rios-Torres has several additional outstanding warrants issued by the Winchester Police Department, including: misdemeanor arrest, resisting arrest and carrying a concealed weapon.
Rios-Torres will be extradited back to Winchester, pending the results of an extradition hearing.
