Middletown Man Killed In I-81 Crash In Frederick County

A 46-year-old Middletown man was killed Monday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 81 in Frederick County, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred at 5:22 a.m. on Oct. 5 on northbound I-81 at mile marker 303.

Virginia State Police said a 2002 Suzuki Grand Vitara XL-7 was traveling north when it went off the left side of the roadway.

The driver overcorrected, causing the SUV to travel off the right side of the road, strike a ditch, and roll over. The driver was ejected before the vehicle struck a tree.

The driver, identified as Brian A. Lamb, 46, of Middletown, died at the scene.

State Police said Lamb was not wearing a seat belt.

The crash remains under investigation.
