New Doctor Joins Shenandoah Medical Associates, Expanding Care for Adults in Front Royal

Shenandoah Medical Associates, a trusted provider of adult primary care in Front Royal, has welcomed a new doctor to its growing team. Dr. Bibek Joshi, a family medicine physician with a background in the U.S. Air Force, joined the practice in late October and is now seeing patients at the office located at 625 Virginia Avenue.

Dr. Guna Subedi, who leads the practice, shared that their focus is on adult primary care, treating patients 18 years and older. “We see patients with a wide range of chronic medical conditions — high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and yes, even the common cold,” Dr. Subedi said. “The only thing we don’t do is OB care. But otherwise, we’re here for the community’s needs.”

Dr. Joshi comes to Front Royal from Charleston, South Carolina, where he served for 5 years at a military base. In total, he spent eight years in the Air Force before transitioning to civilian medicine. Now, with family ties in nearby West Virginia and a new home in the Front Royal area, Dr. Joshi says he’s here to stay.

“I’m excited to be here,” Dr. Joshi said. “This practice is a great fit, and I’m looking forward to building long-term relationships with patients in the community.”

Shenandoah Medical Associates now includes three doctors and one physician assistant: Dr. Guna Subedi, Dr. Rajesh Subedi, Dr. Bibek Joshi, and PA Katelyn Nicewander. The team provides comprehensive adult care with an emphasis on managing chronic conditions and maintaining overall wellness.

Dr. Guna Subedi emphasized the stability that Dr. Joshi brings to the team. “He’s already bought a house and settled in,” he said. “That means our patients can count on long-term continuity of care — something that’s hard to find these days. We’re proud to say all of our providers are accepting new patients, and Dr. Joshi has plenty of availability.”

Dr. Rajesh Subedi, who also sees patients at the clinic, is taking new patients on a case-by-case basis. And for those who prefer a female provider, PA Katelyn Nicewander has become a popular and reliable option.

“After Dr. Fredrickson moved on, Caitlin became our only female provider,” Dr. Guna Subedi said. “Our female patients really appreciate that, and she does a fantastic job.”

Dr. Joshi, who trained in family medicine, said he’s comfortable treating a wide range of health concerns but will focus on adult care at Shenandoah Medical Associates. “In residency, we saw everything from newborns to OB, but in this setting, it’s all about adult medicine — and that’s what I enjoy most,” he said.

The office continues to maintain its reputation for accessibility and responsiveness — a rare thing in modern healthcare, where long waits for appointments have become common.

“We try our best to get people in quickly,” said Dr. Subedi. “We treat our patients like family, and that means making sure they get the care they need when they need it.”

For residents of Front Royal and the surrounding areas, Dr. Joshi’s addition is good news. With a growing staff and a strong commitment to patient care, Shenandoah Medical Associates remains a cornerstone of community health.

Appointments with Dr. Joshi or any of the providers at Shenandoah Medical Associates can be made by calling the office at (540)635-7991.
