New mural officially added to Appalachian Mural Trail Project
As many of you may have seen, we have a beautiful new mural on the wall next to Mountain Trails on Main Street. This mural, commissioned by Mountain Trails owner Garry Green, has now been officially added to the Appalachian Mural Trail Project! The project was started in 2016 and is meant to depict Appalachian mountain culture, life, flora, fauna, and to beautify rural communities downtown’s, explained Garry Green in a prior interview.
What a fun way to attract new hikers to stop by our downtown Main Street and enjoy our special Town of Front Royal! The mural was painted by our very own Jacqui Ris.
In the works is the “selfie” part of the Mural Program. This will enable visitors to take a selfie of themselves in front of the mural, submit their photo and release form, and get a free mural program t-shirt – all of this for only a smile!

This mural, while not only being part of the Appalachian Mural Trail program, will also be included as part of our Community Development Block Grant that is assisting with the revitalization of our Main Street. According to Felicia Hart, Director of CD and Tourism, more murals are already in the works.
