Powder Puff Flag Football Kicks Off Rivalry Week with Heart, Hustle, and School Spirit – Nov 5
UPDATE – LIVE STREAM CANCELED – Game is still on – join us in the stands!
The lights will be on, the sidelines will be packed, and the players on the field will be ready to show just how tough they are. On Wednesday, November 5, at 6 p.m., Warren County High School’s All-Star girls team takes on Skyline High School in a spirited game of Powder Puff flag football at WCHS Stadium — kicking off three nights of cross-town rivalry and high-energy school pride.
Powder Puff football games are more than just fun — they’re a tradition that gives young women a moment to shine on the gridiron. Instead of tackle football, Powder Puff is played with flags, where speed, strategy, and teamwork take center stage. And while there’s no tackling, make no mistake: these players come to win.
This year’s game brings together senior girls from both schools, each representing their classmates, their teams, and their school communities. For many of them, this is their one shot to play under the stadium lights — and they bring energy, enthusiasm, and real athletic skill to every down.
The rules follow the basics of flag football: no tackling, but pulling the flag from an opposing player’s belt stops the play. Expect quick passes, smart plays, and some surprisingly fierce defense.
But beyond the competition, Powder Puff is about community, connection, and confidence. It’s a space where students step into new roles, lead on and off the field, and show what they’re capable of. Families, classmates, and teachers come out in force, turning the evening into a true celebration of school spirit.
Skyline is also expected to bring a strong team this year, making this game one to watch. Whether you’re there to support a friend or just want to soak up the school pride, the stands are expected to be loud and full.
If you can’t attend in person, you won’t miss a play — Wildcats Live! will bring the live-stream of the game here, on the Royal Examiner.
