Ralph Henry Powell (1927 – 2025)

Ralph Henry Powell, 97, of Reliance, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Winchester Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Reliance United Methodist Church, 1571 Reliance Rd Reliance, Virginia 22649, with pastors Andy Brock and William Wade officiating.

Ralph was born on October 2, 1927, in Warren County, Virginia, to the late Ralph Henry Powell Sr. and Genevieve Elizabeth Menefee Powell.

Ralph’s survivors are his loving wife of 67 years, Greta S. Powell; his daughter, Elizabeth Powell James (Brian); his grandchildren, Elise Booth (Nicholas) and Baden James; and his great-grandson, Brooks Booth.

Ralph took great pride in achieving the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He went on to serve honorably in the United States Army. A devoted member of Reliance United Methodist Church, Ralph also dedicated many years to education as a respected teacher and school administrator in Warren County.
