Reject LS&S Contract, Honor the Will of the Voters
An Open Letter to Supervisors Jay Butler and Vicky Cook
Mr. Butler and Ms. Cook,
I encourage you to listen to the voters you represent. The future of Samuels Public Library was the marquee issue in the primary election last week. Candidates who voiced support for the current Samuels Library Board won the election with over 60% of the vote.
Mr. Butler, at a Board of Supervisors meeting last November, you opined that the many speakers supporting the current Samuels Public Library arrangement did not represent your constituents. Now your constituents have spoken. Ms. Cook, the voters in the Fork District spoke clearly as well.
You cannot approve the proposed contract with Library Systems and Services. You need to support the current relationship with Samuels Library Incorporated. Anything else would be dishonorable.
