Richard William Thomas, 80, of Front Royal, Virginia, passed away at his home on Monday, September 23, 2024.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 200 West Prospect Street, Front Royal, with the Rev. Dan Ellis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Maddox Funeral Home, 105 West Main Street, Front Royal.
Mr. Thomas was born on February 11, 1944, in Front Royal, Virginia, to the late Stanley and Ethel Harrison Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Dottie Thomas. He was a retired licensed land surveyor and a member of Marlow Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Susan Farrar Thomas; son, Ross Thomas (Shannon); daughter, Jennifer VanArnam (Jeff) and seven grandchildren, Eliza, Mayzie, Bella, Marykate, Kaya, Reid and Julianne.
