Rotary Club of Front Royal welcomes guest speaker
On Friday, August 25th, The Rotary Club of Front Royal will welcome Vicki Davies as its speaker. Vickie is the Executive Director of Saint Luke Community Clinic. The Rotary Club of Front Royal meets at noon on Fridays. This week’s meeting will be held at the Warren County Community Center located at 538 Villa Avenue. The cost of lunch is $12 and the public is invited to attend.
At the meeting the Club will also be awarding its annual Bob Miller award. Dr. Robert E. “Bob” Miller served the Front Royal community as a dentist for 67 years. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Front Royal for 75 years. His dedication to his patients, clubs, and community were always in the forefront of what he did. It is with the memory of Bob and his Service and Dedication to the community that the Rotary Club of Front Royal established the “Robert E. “Bob” Miller Community Service Award”. It is the objective of the Rotary Club of Front Royal to recognize individuals within the Front Royal-Warren County Community for contributions that improve the quality of life of its citizens. The award is named after Robert E. “Bob” Miller in recognition of his 75 years of membership in the Rotary Club of Front Royal, and his Service to the Front Royal-Warren County Community. Recipients of the award shall have demonstrated a commitment of service and dedication to the community through their vocation, public service, philanthropy or civic service to the community to make a lasting impression on the community.

Bio – Vicki Davies
Professional:
Vicki Davies has a BS in nursing and is the Executive Director of Saint Luke Community Clinic as of July 2016. Prior to her employment at St. Luke she was employed by Valley Health since moving to this area in 1992. During her employment at VH she worked as a staff nurse in various departments, a charge nurse, a nurse educator.
Personal:
Vicki moved to the Shenandoah Valley area from Nashville, Tennessee, and lived in Memphis for 33 years prior to that. She is a mother of a grown daughter who teaches Braille in Frederick, MD and at WVU who has 5 children. Vicki lives with 4 dogs and a cat in Stephens City. Her oldest dog just turned 20 on August 21st.
Community Service Ties:
- A member of the Warren County Rotary Club.
- A member of the Stephens City Lions Club, serves as lifetime secretary and officers training for the district.
- Board member of Winchester Rescue Mission and rescue mission nurse.
- On fundraising committee at House of Hope.
- Takes blood pressures once a week at Samuels Public Library.
- For the past 6 years has gone on a mission trip to Wise County VA with Remote Area Medical to serve over 2000 people in the Appalachian area of VA.
- Volunteers with Habit for Humanity.
- Faith Community Nurse.
Hobbies:
Include quilting, sewing, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.
