Selah Theatre Project Presents “The Mountaintop”: A Powerful Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Selah Theatre Project, in partnership with Laurel Ridge Community College and Coming To The Table – Northern Shenandoah Valley Chapter, is proud to announce its production of The Mountaintop by Katori Hall. This acclaimed play, a compelling reimagining of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s final hours, runs from January 17 through January 26, 2025.
Starring Eric Lee Santiful and Joanne Thompson and directed by Bleu Do’zia, The Mountaintop is a poignant exploration of legacy, hope, and the enduring struggle for equality and justice. Through an imagined conversation in Dr. King’s Memphis hotel room on the eve of his assassination, the play delves into the humanity of one of history’s most iconic figures.
“This play is not just a reflection on Dr. King’s life but a call to action for all of us,” says Do’zia. “It challenges the audience to consider their own role in the ongoing fight for justice and equality.”
