Shotgun Shiver heats up a hot ‘Love Our Parks’ Day – sets sights on new CD

It was hot weather and a hot band at the final event of Warren County’s first “Love Our Parks Day” on Saturday, July 13. The hot band was Shotgun Shiver, whose aggressive rock & roll behind founding members, guitarist Shane Robinson and bassist Jason Sours, along with vocalist Andie Cummins and drummer Luann Cravens matched temperatures in the mid-to-upper 90’s. At least Cravens had the sense to set up in what little shade was hanging on the Warren County Youth Center’s patio on Front Royal’s near north side off Eighth Street.

But by their 6 p.m. start many park goers may have had enough of outdoor activity under the day’s blistering sun and heat. But those music fans hearty enough to find their way to the Dr. Seide Gardens on the Youth Center Patio may have had their rock & roll pulses raised to Beavis & Butthead couch-diving levels.

Shotgun Shiver was smoking on an already HOT ‘Love Our Parks’ Day in Front Royal and Warren County.

But for those of you who missed it, Robinson who handles the management and production side of operations, promises “a new Shotgun Shiver CD is imminent”. And while we await that arrival, the band’s next shows are August 3rd at the Winchester Elks Lodge and August 10th in Alexandria at O’Shaughnessy’s Pub.

Then it is north to Pennsylvania for an August 17th regional battle of the bands showdown. And with Cummins’ evolving vocal power and stage front presence providing a focal point for Cravens’ drumming foundation, Sours’ sonic bass, and Robinson’s energetic stage prowling guitar work, we’re sure Shotgun Shiver will give the competition a run for their money.

When you’re hot, you’re hot – lead vocalist Andie Cummings, guitarist Shane Robinson and bassist Jason Sours take on the July 13th heat and sun to close out a long, hot, summer day in Warren County Parks …
