St. John’s Drama Club Prepares to Unveil “Clue” This Weekend

Published

on

St. John’s Drama Club, a community-focused theater group for teens, is excited to present its latest production, “Clue.” Based on the classic board game, the play promises a fun and engaging experience for the audience. Performances are scheduled for this weekend at Father Rule Hall.

About St. John’s Drama Club

St. John’s Drama Club, operating for over 15 years, offers a creative outlet for teens aged 13 to 19. The club is not just about acting; it’s a comprehensive program that includes building sets, painting, and learning about the many aspects of theater production. Susan Schwartz, one of the directors, describes it as a ministry that helps teens develop valuable skills such as public speaking, confidence, and teamwork.

The club typically stages two to three productions a year. This year’s lineup includes “Clue,” a play that brings the mystery and fun of the beloved board game to life.

Performance Details

“Clue” will be performed at St. John’s basement, Father Rule Hall, off Main Street. The show times are:

  • Friday, July 19 at 7:00 PM
  • Saturday, July 20 at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM
  • Sunday, July 21 at 2:30 PM
  • Monday, July 22 at 7:00 PM

Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, children, and students, and a family ticket option is available for $35.

The play follows the familiar storyline of the “Clue” board game, where the characters work to solve a mystery involving a series of murders. The audience will enjoy a unique setup with seven stages designed to immerse them in the experience as if they were part of the game.

Director Susan Schwartz emphasizes the club’s commitment to making the production family-friendly despite the murder mystery theme. “It’s all in good fun and suitable for all ages,” she assures.

St. John’s Drama Club welcomes new members. Teens interested in joining can visit their website, stjohnsdrama.org, or find them on Facebook. The club is open to any teenager who wants to explore the world of theater, meet new friends, and develop various skills.

As the interview wrapped up, Mike McCool from the Royal Examiner noted the young actors’ articulate and confident demeanor, crediting the drama club for helping them develop these qualities. He encouraged the community to come out and support the talented cast.
