Thank You Fork District Board of Supervisors Candidate Hugh Henry

Thank you for speaking out against book banning and increased government bureaucracy at the recent Republican committee meeting. Your common-sense approach to governance would have resolved the current library controversy with a one-hour budget meeting. Instead, the current BOS majority has wasted thousands of manhours and dollars pursuing an agenda that, if successful, would destroy a public/private partnership that has served Warren County extremely well for nearly 50 years.

The library has been willing to compromise by submitting a no-growth budget – the 4th year in a row that the budget has been at the same public funding level – which is actually a significant budget cut since the library is now paying for building maintenance and has had to absorb 4 years of inflation and cost of living increases. A reasonable person would take this as a good compromise to end this divisive issue. The BOS majority, who are not interested in governing reasonably, have gone forward with an RFP, wasting more time and money, when it is a 100% certainty that NO other entity (public or private) can give Warren County our current world-class level of library services at a cheaper price.
