FRONT ROYAL – Following the Royal Examiner’s coverage of the Tuesday, June 6 announcement of Interim Town Manager Joe Waltz’ appointment as Front Royal Town Manager, we shared the story from our website to our Facebook page.
Shortly after the story was posted, local resident John Ramey chimed in with a complaint about a utility pole issue that he hoped Mr. Waltz could help resolve, “Maybe we can get the telephone pole out of the gutter in the 700 block of Braxton Road then. Town just installed new curb and gutter and you have to see it to believe it. Corner of Braxton and Randolph.”
The Royal Examiner is happy to report that by 8:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, Town of Front Royal crews were on the scene and removing the pole, under the supervision of Interim Energy Services Director David Jenkins.
Waltz said Tuesday after, being named the new Town Manager, that he had an “open door” policy whereby he would listen to the concerns of citizens and staff alike.
Based upon the alacrity with which he handled Mr. Ramey’s concern, we can see that Waltz is a man of his word – and clearly, a man of action.
