VDOT: Warren County Traffic Alert for October 28 – November 1, 2024

The following is a list of highway work that may affect traffic in Warren County during the coming weeks. Scheduled work is subject to change due to inclement weather and material supplies. Motorists are advised to watch for slow-moving tractors during mowing operations. When traveling through a work zone, be alert to periodic changes in traffic patterns and lane closures.

INTERSTATE 66
*NEW* Mile marker 0 to 15, eastbound and westbound – Mobile left lane and right shoulder closures for litter pickup and mowing operations, 7 a.m. to 7 a.m. October 27 – November 4. Lane closures are primarily during nighttime and overnight hours.
*NEW* Mile marker 1 to 14, eastbound – Right shoulder closures for utility work, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. October 28 – November 8.
Mile marker 14 to 15, eastbound – Right shoulder closures for utility work, with possible daytime and nighttime work hours. Estimated completion: November 1.

INTERSTATE 81
No lane closures were reported.

PRIMARY ROADS
No lane closures were reported.

SECONDARY ROADS
Route 658 (Rockland Road) – Closed to through traffic between Route 340/522 (Winchester Road) and Route 705 (Fishnet Boulevard) for the construction of a bridge over Norfolk Southern Railway. Follow the posted detour. Estimated completion December 2025.

Vegetation management may take place district-wide on various routes. Motorists are reminded to use extreme caution when traveling through work zones.
