Warren County Board of Supervisors Budget Work Session Agendas and Video Links

Published

on

Below, chronologically, are agenda cover sheets and video links to Warren County Board of Supervisor 2024 Budget work sessions or meeting discussions for Fiscal Year 2024/25. Those meeting agendas begin with outside agencies and start to include County departmental requests on February 8 and 13. See how the supervisors responded to what they heard from outside agencies other than Samuels Public Library, as those agencies presented their projected coming fiscal year budgetary needs and financial strategies to cover operations and expenses on services provided to county citizens. Complete agenda packets with details from those outside agencies and departmental budget summaries and requests are also available through the County website.

Of interest to readers, among others, might be the budget presentations and subsequent supervisors’ questions-and-answer periods with the two outside agencies that preceded Samuels Public Library officials to the podium on January 30. Those were the Blue Ridge Arts Council and the Humane Society of Warren County. Presenters from both were queried as to fundraising strategies and intake amounts versus the requests to the County for tax-supported operational revenues.

The Blue Ridge Arts Council budget presentation of 22-year Arts Council member Kym Crump begins at the January 30 video mark of 43:37, with questions beginning at the 45:39 mark. Questions specific to fundraising begin at the 46:41 mark, continuing to just past the 48:00-minute mark.

The Humane Society of Warren County budget presentation of new Director Kayla Wines starts at the 50:47 video mark, ending at the 55:00 minute mark where questioning begins, continuing to the 1:04:07 mark, with Samuels Library officials Melody Hotek and Eileen Grady successively stepping to the podium next.

The Warren County Government Center has been the scene of a flurry of Fiscal Year-2025 outside agency and departmental budget presentation activity since the turn of the new year. Royal Examiner File Photo
